Around the world pod, vapes are becoming one of the most popular choices for new vapers, and even experienced vapers are starting to see the advantage of a premium pod vape system. Where once it was all about the pen vapes and the mods, now pod systems are one of the most popular vaping setups, especially for new or beginner vapers.

In the following article, we’ll be taking a closer look at what pod systems are, how they work, and what the advantages of pod systems are! If you have been considering a pod system but can’t make up your mind, then this article may answer all your questions!

What Are Pod Systems?

Pod systems are smaller vaporizers with an enclosed pod instead of a tank. There are a variety of different categories of pod vapes, but they all essentially function in the same way. They contain a power source, usually an internal battery that’s rechargeable, and the pod or cartridge. The pods usually contain the atomizer or coil in a fully enclosed system. When you change the pod or cartridge, you’re also changing the coil in most pod systems.

A lot of pod systems utilize pods that aren’t refillable. This means that when your pod runs out of e-liquid, you’ll need to throw it away and add another pod. However, some pod systems use refillable pods, which allow you to have a much greater choice over the flavor and type of e-liquid that you choose.

What Are the Advantages and Disadvantages of a Pod System?

There are a variety of reasons that pod systems are becoming so popular, even with experienced vapers that already have much larger mods. In the next section, we’ll look at some of the advantages and disadvantages of pod systems and why they’re becoming popular.

The Advantages of Pod Systems

  • Small Size – There small size and compact design makes pod systems much easier to carry around, especially if your out and about for the night or day. Bigger mods are much heavier and bulkier and don’t always fit comfortably in your pocket.
  • Convenient – The small size and easy operation of pod systems make them one of the convenient vapes on the market. Many pod systems don’t even have firing buttons but are draw-activated, which means you just inhale to vape.
  • No Messy Refills – When you’re switching out a pod, you don’t have to worry about changing coils and spilling e-liquid everywhere. You simply swap out one cartridge or pod and then replace it with a new one. It also makes it easy to switch e-liquid flavors without having to worry about losing the flavor in an old tank.

The Disadvantages of Pod Systems

  • Limited Choices – One of the biggest disadvantages to pod systems is that you are sometimes limited to the pods that come with the model you purchase. This limits you in the choice of e-liquid flavor that you vape, with some pods being not refillable. While pods are always expanding their flavor ranges, a lot is limited to about a dozen of the more standard fruit and tobacco flavors.
  • Limited Customization– If you enjoy making your own coils, experimenting with tanks and temperature settings, then a pod system isn’t ever going to be the best choice for you. You will lose the ability to customize your vaporizer, but if that’s something you never liked in the beginning, it won’t be an issue.

Pod Systems – Conclusion

When pod systems first entered the market, you were limited with both the model and types of pods and e-liquid flavors you got in your pods. As the popularity of pod systems has increased, we’re seeing some impressive models hit the market, with almost every significant vape brand in the market adding their own pod system.

As pod systems gain popularity, we’re going to see even more advanced models hit the market with better features and better pods and flavors. If you’re looking for a vaporizer that’s a bit more convenient to carry around, or perhaps you need a secondary vaporizer to compliment your larger mod, a pod system could be a perfect fit.
